Our story

Started with a QR code.
Built through a pandemic.
Now we run your operations.

Hitdesk has been in the field since 2018 — long before “workforce digitalisation” was a buzzword. What started as a simple site tagging tool grew, through COVID and beyond, into one of the most capable service operations platforms available.

The founding story

Why we built Hitdesk

It started with a QR code on a gate. In 2018, we built a simple tool to help security companies replace paper-based patrol logs and site check-in sheets with digital records. Scan a tag, log a visit, prove you were there. Simple.

But as we worked closer with security companies, we saw the same problems everywhere: compliance buried in spreadsheets, lone worker safety managed over WhatsApp, shift scheduling done in a dozen different apps, client reporting cobbled together the night before an audit.

Then COVID hit.

Overnight, the urgency around digital workforce management went from “nice to have” to “critical”. Our customers needed lone working protection that actually worked, remote check-ins, digital incident reporting, contact tracing, and real-time oversight — immediately. We built it. Fast.

That forced build-out became the foundation of the Hitdesk platform. Every module we shipped during that period was battle-tested against real operational pressure. The result is a platform that doesn't just look good in a demo — it works at 3am when a guard misses a check-in.

Today, Hitdesk manages over 1,000 people daily. We're expanding into staffing agencies and home care — industries with the same fundamental challenges: deskless workforces, complex compliance, and too much admin standing between people and the work that actually matters.

Our journey

18
2018 · The beginning

Hitdesk launches as a QR-based site tagging platform — helping security companies digitise check-ins, patrol verification, and site documentation that were still done on paper.

19
2019 · Getting traction

Early security customers start using the platform for guard management and basic compliance tracking. The foundation of what would become the full Hitdesk suite takes shape.

20
2020 · COVID changes everything

Overnight, the need for digital workforce management becomes urgent across every service industry. Hitdesk scales rapidly — lone working, digital reporting, contact management, and remote operations all get built in response to real customer demand.

20–22
2021–22 · Platform explosion

The COVID build-out hardens into a proper platform. SIA compliance, scheduling, mobile apps, client portals, and integrations all ship. Hitdesk goes from a tagging tool to a full operations suite.

23
2023 · Hitdesk Automation Ltd

The company is formally incorporated. The platform enters a new phase — productised, scalable, and ready for serious growth. White-label capability opens up.

24
2024 · Beyond security

The platform crosses 1,000+ people managed daily. International deployments begin. The architecture underpinning security ops proves it works for any deskless, field-based workforce.

26
2026 · Three verticals

Staffing agencies and home care companies join security as full verticals. The same platform, the same compliance engine, the same unlimited user model — now serving three industries.

What we believe

Our values

Compliance first

We built compliance into the foundation of the platform — not as a feature, but as a philosophy. Every module is designed to make doing the right thing the easy thing.

Built for operators

We started on the ground floor — literally. QR codes on site gates, check-in sheets, lone worker calls at 3am. We built Hitdesk because we lived the problem before we solved it.

Forged through adversity

COVID didn't slow us down — it proved we were building the right thing. When the world needed digital workforce management overnight, Hitdesk was ready.

Scaling with you

Whether you're managing 10 staff or 10,000, our unlimited user model means the platform grows with your business without growing your costs.
